Green Acres Website Design and Development

A Website Built Around Outdoor Possibilities

Green Acres has served homeowners throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties since 1979. What began as a family landscaping business has grown into a full-service destination for hardscaping, landscaping, outdoor living construction, fencing, landscape lighting, and nursery products.

The new website needed to represent that full range of services without making the company feel scattered. It also needed to balance two important sides of the Green Acres brand: the history and familiarity of a long-standing local business, and the quality of the custom outdoor spaces its team designs and installs.

The Project

The goal was to create a site that made Green Acres’ capabilities easy to understand while giving its project photography enough space to make an impact. Visitors needed to quickly identify the service they were looking for, see the level of work Green Acres provides, and reach the estimate process without digging through the site.

Because Green Acres serves several types of customers, the site also had to account for different paths. One visitor may be planning a complete backyard renovation, another may need a new patio or fence, and another may simply be looking for trees and shrubs from the nursery. The structure was built to support each of those needs while keeping the overall site cohesive.

Organizing a Large Service Offering

The website groups the company’s work into four primary categories: hardscaping, landscaping, outdoor living, and nursery. This gives visitors a clear starting point while still allowing individual services such as patios, retaining walls, fire features, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, fencing, and landscape lighting to have dedicated pages.

The navigation was designed to accommodate that amount of information without presenting visitors with one oversized, difficult-to-scan menu. Service categories establish the hierarchy, while supporting pages provide the detail needed for homeowners who are already researching a specific project.

A Visual Direction Grounded in the Brand

The design uses deep green, warm neutral tones, and a strong yellow accent drawn from the existing Green Acres identity. Large outdoor photography carries the visual weight of the site, allowing completed patios, fire features, plantings, and gathering spaces to communicate the quality of the work immediately.

Elegant headline typography adds a more refined feel without losing the approachable character of a family-owned company. The design is polished, but it does not feel removed from the practical, hands-on nature of the work.

Calls to action use the yellow accent sparingly so estimate buttons remain easy to locate. Supporting colors and typography stay consistent from the homepage through service, nursery, gallery, and contact pages.

Designed Beyond the Homepage

The homepage introduces the company, establishes its service categories, and directs visitors toward the most relevant part of the site. The design system then carries through several different page types:

  • Hardscaping and outdoor living pages use large project photography and structured service content to help homeowners picture the possibilities for their own property.
  • The nursery page supports a retail-focused visitor while remaining visually connected to the installation side of the business.
  • The project gallery puts completed work at the center and gives prospective customers a broader look at Green Acres’ capabilities.
  • Location and individual service pages provide focused information without feeling separate from the main website.
  • The contact page gives visitors a direct route to request an estimate after reviewing services and past work.

Each page was designed around its purpose rather than forcing every type of content into the same layout.

Responsive Website Design

The desktop layout uses the available space for large photography, service navigation, and strong headline treatments. On tablets and phones, the same design shifts into a more focused vertical layout with simplified navigation, readable content widths, and prominent estimate buttons.

The mobile version keeps the project imagery and visual character of the desktop site while making the next action clear. Visitors can review services, view completed work, call the company, or request an estimate without working around a desktop layout squeezed onto a smaller screen.

Supporting the Estimate Process

The website consistently guides visitors toward requesting an estimate without turning every section into a sales pitch. Calls to action are placed at natural decision points, including after service introductions, project examples, and detailed information.

This gives visitors time to understand the company and its work before asking them to take the next step. Contact information, business hours, and the estimate form are also easy to locate throughout the site.

The Final Website

The completed Green Acres website presents a large and varied service offering through one clear visual system. It gives the company room to show the quality of its outdoor work, supports both service and nursery customers, and makes a long-established local business feel current without losing the history behind it.

The result is a website that feels consistent with the spaces Green Acres creates: thoughtfully planned, visually strong, functional, and built around how people will actually use it.
