Roofing SEO

A roofing SEO company that wins the storm and the replacement.

A roof is the most expensive thing a homeowner buys without seeing it. They search after a storm, after a leak and after an inspection, and they choose on reviews, photos and whether the site answers the insurance question. We build the rankings, the pages and the review profile that make a roofing company the one they call.

The Short Version

Four things a roofing campaign has to get right.

The map pack across the county

Roofers drive further than most trades, and the map pack has to follow. A profile with the right categories and service areas, pages for the towns the crews cover, and reviews that name them keep the company in the three-pack beyond its own zip code.

A storm page ready before the storm

The storm damage page is written, published and ranking before the season, with the insurance claim process, the inspection offer and the photos already on it. When the hail comes, the page is there and the ads are the only thing that changes.

Photos and proof on every page

A roof is bought on trust. Every service page carries the company’s own job photos, the manufacturer certifications, the warranty terms and the reviews for that kind of work, because a homeowner is comparing you with a storm chaser who has none of it.

The insurance question, answered

Half of roofing searches after a storm are really insurance searches. Pages that explain the claim, the adjuster meeting and what the homeowner pays rank for those questions and bring the inspection that turns into the job.

Roofing SEO built around how the job is bought

Roofing SEO built around how the job is bought

A roofing company sells one large job and several small ones, and the searches for each are different. Replacement is researched over weeks, with the homeowner reading about materials, warranties and price ranges before calling three companies for estimates. Repairs and leaks are urgent and go to the map pack. Storm damage is a wave, insurance-driven and decided by who is already visible. Commercial and flat roofing is a separate search with a separate buyer. The site needs a page for each, written for that buyer, and the profile, the reviews and the ads need to point at the right one.

Underneath, the technical work keeps the site fast on a phone, marks it up as a roofing contractor with a service area, and keeps the town pages from competing with the service pages.

Why roofing companies choose SEO Locale

Why roofing companies choose SEO Locale

Because the exterior contractors we have worked with since 2015, from general contractors to siding and masonry companies, taught us the seasons, the insurance process and the questions a homeowner asks before signing. The strategist, the writer, the profile manager and the ad manager all sit in one office in Montgomeryville, the rankings are checked weekly in SEOApp, the tracker we built, and the monthly report shows inspections and signed jobs from the company’s own analytics. Every agreement is month to month.

Why Roofing Is Different

Nobody searches for a roofer until they need one, and then everyone does at once.

A hailstorm or a wind event puts a whole county on the same search in the same week, and the roofing companies that already hold the map pack and the storm damage page collect the inspections while everyone else buys ads at the worst possible price. Between storms, the searches are inspections, leaks and replacements, and those go to the company whose site explains the job, the insurance process and the warranty.

I had a really good impression of Nick and the team but unfortunately they significantly underdelivered on what was promised. With two days left after our first month all we had received was a list of keywords and a few articles that were almost certainly AI generated, about 20%…

FAQ

Questions from roofing contractors

What roofing owners ask before they hire anyone.

A storm just hit. Can SEO help this week?

Only if it was in place before the storm, which is the point of building the storm page and the Local Services Ads account ahead of the season. This week, LSA and paid search are the levers, and we can have both live in days. The SEO work starts now so the next storm is different.

How do we compete with the storm chasers?

By looking like what you are: a local company with years of reviews, a real address, photos of local jobs and pages that explain the insurance process. Google ranks established businesses above week-old profiles, and homeowners read the reviews. The storm chasers have neither.

We do residential and commercial. One site or two?

One site, two clear sections. Residential pages are written for a homeowner; commercial pages for a property manager comparing systems and certifications. Separate pages keep the searches from competing and let each read as a specialist. A second domain splits the authority for no gain.

Does a roofing company need Local Services Ads?

Yes, in most markets. Roofing is one of the categories where the Google Guaranteed listings sit above everything, and the per-lead pricing is kinder than the click auction during a storm. We manage the account beside the SEO and dispute the leads that were not a roofing job.

How long before the rankings move?

Map pack improvements from the profile and citation work show in the first two to three months. Replacement and storm pages take four to eight months to rank, and they need to be in place a season early. The audit gives a timeline for your county rather than a generic one.

Is there a contract?

No. Every agreement is month to month. The plan is explained before you pay for it, and you can stop when the work stops being worth it.

Roofing is a seasonal search with a storm on top

The roofing calendar is spring inspections, summer replacements, fall leak repairs before the weather turns, and the storms that can land in any of them. The content follows it: inspection and replacement pages are strong before spring, the storm damage and insurance pages are in place before the season, and the winter is for ice dam and emergency repair content. Local SEO and Google Business Profile SEO hold the map pack through all of it, with reviews requested after every completed job and photos added to the profile from the crews’ phones.

When the storm hits

A storm is a week when every roofer in the county is buying the same clicks. The companies that already rank for "storm damage roof repair" and "hail damage roof inspection" in the affected towns get the inspections without paying for them, and the Local Services Ads account, already verified and funded, takes the top of the page at a per-lead price while the ad auction spikes. The campaign is built so the storm week is a harvest rather than a scramble.

What a roofing company gets from the campaign

The free audit, reviewed by a person, comes first: where the company sits in the map pack and the organic results for each town the crews cover and each kind of job, who sits above it, what their sites and profiles carry that yours does not, and the technical faults on the site. The profile and citations are fixed in the first month. The replacement, repair and storm pages are rewritten next, with the company’s own photos, the certifications and the warranty terms on them. Town pages follow for the service area, and the review request is wired into the office software so it goes out when the crew leaves.

Commercial and flat roofing

Commercial roofing is a different buyer, a property manager or a facilities director researching TPO, EPDM and metal systems and comparing companies on certifications and references. Those pages are written for that reader and, for companies that travel, run as a national SEO program beside the local one.

Beating the storm chasers and the national lead sellers

A roofing company competes with two things that are not roofing companies. The first is the out-of-state crew that appears after a storm with a yard sign and a Google profile created last week. The second is the lead-selling site that ranks for the company’s own town and sells the inquiry to four contractors. Both are beaten the same way: an established profile with years of reviews, pages with real photos of real local jobs, citations and a physical address that agree, and content that answers the insurance and warranty questions the lead sites cannot. Google rewards the business that looks like it has been in the town for a decade, because it has.

The home services companies we work with follow the same pattern: own the home town first, add the towns the crews already drive to, and add a service at a time. SEO starts at $500 a month and there is no contract.

Other Services

A roofing job is bought on trust and found on a map, so Local SEO and Google Business Profile SEO carry the work, with Reputation Management looking after the reviews a homeowner reads before letting anyone on the roof and Local Services Ads taking the top of the page when the storm comes.
